HIV Test FAQs

Knowing your HIV status is the best way to protect your health and the health of your partner. If you are HIV-positive, early diagnosis gives you a high chance to live a healthy, long life. Many who are HIV-positive do not know their status, and could unknowingly infect others. If you are sexually active, get tested.

Testing at AHF Poland and our partner’s location is free; it is performed quickly, easily and in a friendly atmosphere.

HIV testing is free at all of our locations.

The actual test time will be 15 to 20 minutes.

For the rapid HIV test used at our locations a small drop of blood is needed.

In the case of a positive result, you will be linked as soon as possible into a local testing site for a confirmatory test.

If you undergo testing at one of our partner’s location in Lublin, we guarantee it will be quick and in a quality manner.

You will receive your results before you leave our facility.

The test will be administered by a trained and certified HIV tester.

We only gather the minimum information necessary and required to evaluate your individual needs, to assist us in providing you with the right service. We strive to keep the process as simple as possible.

If you receive an HIV-positive test result, our counselors will walk you through the next steps. HIV is not fully curable, but it is treatable and the treatments are highly effective.
